Adhesive bra is not your regular bra. It is a state-of-the-art design of the woman’s brassiere scientifically designed to “adhere” to the body. Invented by NuBra in 2002, it was created for the modern woman who might find the standard bra irritating sometimes. The adhesive bra comes in a revolutionary, advanced form minus the cumbersome back and shoulder straps. It is composed of two silicone cups attached with a front hook and sticks to the body for about six hours, providing better breast support and comfort. Especially for a woman who is wearing a backless or strapless dress, the adhesive bra becomes a practical choice.
The key point in an adhesive bra is that the instructions should be followed to the letter in order for it to work properly. Manufacturers have specific instructions on how to use it and unless you follow it religiously, the adhesive bra will slip or fail to provide adequate support. The first step in applying the bra is to make sure the area is clean and dry. NuBra produced its own cleaning solution in order to remove oils and other body dirt before putting on the bra. The bra should not be used after putting on body cream or lotion. This causes slippage. The second step is to attach the bra cups one at a time and then connect it with the front hook. Press the cups to your breast for about 15 seconds to ensure a secure and comfortable fit. Wash the adhesive bra after every use. NuBra also has its own bra wash.
The Braza Bra was among the first versions of the adhesive bra. Unlike the new and recent designs though, it used an actual adhesive tape to attach to the body. Obviously, most women who tried it complained of the pain when removing the tape. Moreover, they claimed that the bra design did not give enough support for the breasts. The Braza Bra model is still available today and NuBra even came out with its own brand of adhesive tapes since frequent use of tapes loses its potency. But better versions of this model have been produced since. One of the newest models of the NuBra adhesive bra is the feather light version which comes with adhesive straps for a D cup. Unfortunately, the adhesive bra is not available in all sizes, accommodating women only up to a cup C. The feather light version fixes this problem but still leaves bigger-breasted women unable to try this design or even if they do, they won’t get the correct breast support.
According to test runs and actual use of the NuBra adhesive bra, as long as instructions are followed completely, the product works fairly well for about six hours. It’s even strong enough to stay attached even with humidity and sweating. According to a woman’s preference, it can be adjusted higher or lower depending on the degree of support and comfort needed. But frequent attachment and reattachment may also cause the bra not to adhere consequently. So especially for an important event like a wedding, prom or party, the product should be tested first to achieve the desired fit.
The adhesive bra obviously has advantages and disadvantages. But reviews of the product showed high sales reports, especially after it was first introduced commercially in 2003 at the famous Neiman Marcus franchise. The main attraction was its fashion practicality when wearing a backless and strapless dress. Nowadays, the adhesive bra is available both locally and online at about $50-$60. Whether a woman decides to stick to the standard bra or try out this revolutionary design, in the end, it all comes down to choice.
